Abstract:

We develop a novel process which rapidly, continuously, and steadily promotes the formation of aggregates that gave biophysical properties similar to those of amyloid fibrils. The process can be applied for many kinds of proteins, disregarding their size or sequences. This invention has advantages such as easily controlled process, homogeneity of production, and feasibility of scaling up. We find that these fibrillar proteins cause apoptosis by binding to integrin and modulating Akt/caspases signaling pathway. In conclusion, we invent a novel process that promotes the formation of fibrillar proteins which can be utilized as a drug for treatment of diseases caused by apoptosis-impaired cells such as cancer, autoimmune diseases and etc.

Fields of Application:

Treatment apoptosis impaired disease, such as cancer, viral infection, allergic disease, inflammatory disease, autoimmune disease, immunodeficiency disease, reperfusion injury, and neurodegenerative disorder.

Advantages when compared to the existing technologies:

1.Promotes the formation of fibrillar proteins rapidly, continuously, and steadily
2.Applied to many proteins, despite of their sizes or sequences.
3.Has advantage in hologeneity of production and feasibility of scaling up.
4.Produce fibrillar protein without fibrillar seed
